An Invitation to Unite Winnipeg Together

August 26, 2026July 3, 2026 by Christopher Clacio

Dear Winnipeggers,

Can you imagine a Winnipeg where civic engagement isn’t just encouraged, it is the very foundation of how we govern? A city where every resident, from the north and south to the east and west, has a real voice in shaping their neighbourhood. Where decisions are made with transparency, and every person feels empowered to take action.

This is the Winnipeg I believe in. One built on respect for every citizen’s input, trust in our ability to solve problems together, and pride in what we can accomplish through collective effort.

Leadership isn’t just about making decisions. It’s about listening, engaging, and working alongside people to build a better future. When we prioritize meaningful civic engagement, we get stronger policies, more resilient services, and a city that reflects the needs and hopes of its people.

I believe in a Winnipeg where no one stands on the sidelines. Where citizens, businesses, and governments work together and not in isolation to tackle challenges, shape infrastructure, and build a fairer, more inclusive city. Where “collective action” is more than a phrase, it’s how we govern.

The City of Winnipeg’s official motto is “Unum Cum Virtute Multorum”, which translates to “One with the strength of many”. It’s more than a slogan. It is a call to build a city where everyone has access, everyone belongs, and everyone contributes.

This platform is your invitation: to learn, to engage, to participate, and to find community. Join me in shaping a Winnipeg that reflects the will, the wisdom, and the heart of its people. Together, we can restore trust in our institutions and take pride in the city we build. Together.

Respectfully,

Christopher Clacio
Candidate for Mayor of Winnipeg

Can you help Chris with translation?

Chris wants his Mayoral Campaign to live up to his ideals of access for all, and that includes Winnipeggers who have a different first language than English. We are continuously building Chris' Crew of volunteers, and that includes translators!

Reach out through this form to support our translation efforts. Our priorities are French, Tagalog, Punjabi, Mandarin, and Ukrainian to correspond with data released by the Canadian Census.

Labour Solidarity

We honour the generations of workers, labour organizers, unions, and newcomers whose contributions and solidarity have built Winnipeg as a city of working people and a place to call home. We commit ourselves to dignity, fairness, and partnership with all who contribute to our city.

Land Blessing

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Treaty 1 (Also known as the Stone Fort Treaty), and Homeland of the Red River Metis. We honour the generations who have cared for these lands and commit ourselves to the ongoing work of reconciliation, respect, and shared responsibility.
